Abstract
Quorum sensing is a fundamental mechanism that enables coordinated behavior within populations of autonomous agents and is widely studied in biological systems, from bacterial colonies to social insects. In swarm robotics, quorum sensing has attracted significant interest, primarily for implementing collective decision-making processes. This work explores the potential of leveraging quorum sensing to enable robotic swarms to adapt to dynamic environments in the context of the Best-of-N decision-making problem. The study aims to identify the most effective approach for this application, taking into consideration two widely adopted agent models in this context.
