SUMMARY:[Scyphy Seminar] Statistical model checking for rule-based models
 in the Kappa language
LOCATION:Z8 Kitchen
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Albin Salazar\n\nKappa is a graph-rewriting language
originally developed formodeling molecular interactions in cellular proces
ses. A key feature ofKappa models is that\, inspired by organic chemistry\
, interaction rulesoperate on patterns i.e.\, partially specified molecula
r species\, thus allow-ing compact descriptions of otherwise large or even
infinite models. In this talk\, we propose and implement a framework for
statisticalmodel checking for stochastic Kappa models against properties w
rittenin bounded linear temporal logic (BLTL). A key feature of our approa
chis that temporal properties operate over Kappa patterns\, making thespec
ification language native to Kappa and avoiding the expensive—andsometim
es theoretically impossible—translation of the model into anequivalent c
hemical reaction network with a finite number of species.Concretely\, give
n a Kappa model and a property\, we first instrument themodel by introduci
ng additional variables and observables that trackthe truth value of each
 atomic proposi…
